Day 1 Saturday
When you arrived at Simferopol and
did all things you have to do with the Crimean customs, your tour
leader will bring you to your accommodation in Sevastopol. When you
did freshen up a little, you go together with your tour leader, to
the city centre for a first meeting with the city of Honour. In an
Ukraine style restaurant you will enjoy a welcome diner with of
course the well known liquor "Vodka".
Day 2 Sunday
After breakfast you will leave the hotel
for a beautiful walk though the city centre. In Sevastopol are about
half a million people living. You will enjoy fantastic views on the
Black Sea and Buchta. At some places this sea is 1700 meters deep.
In this walk you will visit the most important places and monuments
of the city. In the afternoon it is time for a visit at the
panorama, where you can see the history about the Crimean war. After
this it's time for the Military Marine museum where you can see the
complete history from defensive Sevastopol, from the Crimean war
until today. Your diner will be served in Sevastopol.
Day 3 Monday
This morning after you
had a
breakfast You will go by bus to Inkerman, where the Black River ends
his stream in the Buchta of Sevastopol. This place is unique. In the
white steep rocks are many like honey rates old cave houses to see.
Bishop Clement, son of Peter was sent here. With a lot of hard work
and a lot of setback he did start in one of the caves to build a
church. In the 8th and 9th century, from this place on the Byzantine
monks started to build a monastery, what would take 1000 years to
finish. After this visit you will go on to the place named
Bakhchisarai.
Along the road, you will pass a area of the Tartars of Crimea. It is
one of the most beautiful nature areas in Europe, with a lot of lakes
where frogs do live and different kind of birds. In Bakhchisarai you will find really old cave
houses from whom even now a few are used like a real house. at this
place is also a cave from 120 meter deep, where the clearest water
stream is. In the afternoon it's time to visit an Islam Palace of the
former Khan who did live there with his Harem. The day will be
closed with a tasty diner.
Day 4 Tuesday
Today the program will take you to
Yalta. As soon you did leave Sevastopol, the landscape is changing.
From the rolling hills hills you will pass the vineyards of Crimea
until you are at the South Coast and in the middle of the mountains.
There you will make your first stop at a very small church, from
where you have the most fantastic view over the South point of the
peninsula. When you travel on towards Yalta you will pass, the high
in the mountains build, church of Faros, it is a place that you
should have visited. You will! You even will visit a wine factory to
taste some of the famous wines from Crimea. Here is the place to ask
all you you want to now about Crimean wines. After a visit at
the Massandra palace, an other old Datcha of one of the Romanovs, you
will stay for the night in Yalta.
Day 5 Wednesday
Yesterday evening you did have the
chance to visit the centre of Yalta. So after breakfast, you
can go immediately to the summer palace of the last Tsar. The
"Livadia" was the place where in 1945 by Roosevelt, Stalin en
Churchill the peace of Yalta was signed. During special occasions,
this beautiful palace is still the place where the members of the
family Romanov meet each other. Passing the famous "Swalownest",
what is a small castle on a rock at the shore of the Black Sea and
where you can make the most beautiful pictures, you will visit an
other palace. This is the Palace "Alupka" of Count
Vorontsov. The
building time of this imposing English looking palace, took in the
19th century twenty years. The result can be seen. it is a palace
with about 150 rooms with more then 11000 beautiful sculptures,
paintings and furniture. After a diner strait from the grill in one
of the many Crimean Tartar restaurants, you will return in
Sevastopol.
Day 6 Thursday
After breakfast you will bring a visit
at the place where Sevastopol started. The area called "Hersones" or
"Chersoneses" is from the time the Greeks did settle at the
peninsula. In the afternoon you will visit the Diorama. At Sapun hill is a building where you can see a famous painting
about one day in Second World War. the day of the firestorm of Sapun mountain
at may 7, 1944. Diner will be in Sevastopol.
Day 7 Friday
Today, after breakfast you have some
free time to visit a museum, do some last shopping or just sit on
one of the places near the Black Sea and enjoy the view. You can
also join one of the facultative excursions.
In the evening you will enjoy a goodbye diner.
Day 8 Saturday
After an early breakfast, you will leave
for the airport to leave Crimea after a beautiful holiday. Your tour
leader will join you until you did complete your check in.
